Choosing a Proxy Type
info
In this article, we'll help you understand different types of proxies and choose the most suitable option for working with accounts in Indigo.
HTTP(S) and SOCKS
- HTTP and HTTPS
- SOCKS
- HTTP proxies accelerate webpage loading and filter traffic.
- HTTPS proxies use SSL protocol for data protection and can handle both HTTP and HTTPS traffic, providing encrypted communication between the client and proxy server.
- SOCKS proxies process all traffic based on TCP connection, including HTTP data.
note
HTTP(S) proxies are designed for specific protocols, while SOCKS proxies handle any traffic without limitations. We support both protocols, and our users use them with excellent results — the choice is yours.
Static and Dynamic
- Static proxies allow you to always work with the same IP.
- With dynamic proxies you get a configurable pool of different IP addresses.
tip
Static IPs can be more reliable, but high-quality dynamic proxies are also an excellent option that shows good results with Indigo.
Residential, Mobile, and Server Proxies
- Residential proxies use real IP addresses belonging to internet service providers. They are linked to physical addresses, providing a greater degree of authenticity.
- Mobile proxies are a type of proxy server used for routing internet traffic from a mobile device.
- Server proxies, in turn, connect to datacenter servers and cloud hosting, providing fast and efficient web scraping operations.
warning
We recommend using residential and mobile proxies, as most popular platforms block accounts created using server proxies.
